So winter is over and all those bulky yet beautiful knits and long-sleeved crochet sweaters you’ve worn is “out”. You can try to wear it but it would be scorching hot and making the look work during the summertime is really not easy. However, for those who really loves sweater so much that they cant leave it along with winter, lightweight sweaters are here. And is trendy and “in” this summer. That’s right. Designer brand all over the world are launching their summer lines with light sweaters on it. Guess sweaters collection is one great example. The first time I saw Guess collection, I was amazed that the brand had gone from famous because of denim brands, now leading on almost every aspect of the fashion world. To partake in this wearable trend, we've come up with a few major guidelines for making a sweater work in the summer:
1. Choose the right fabrics. Cashmere may be unbelievably soft in winter, but in summer it could cause heatstroke. Go for woven cotton or a silk-blend that will let you keep your cool.
2. Style the look. Pair a pull-over with summer bottoms (shorts, skirts or light-colored jeans) or, add a long cardigan to a flowy maxi dress.
3. Keep it light. Pair a light-colored sweater with other monochromatic pieces for a head-to-toe summery look like Jessica Alba.
Here are some more tips that I can share with you:
Belt It With A Wide One — Leave the thin belts for an outfit that's less bulky. This is a job for a wide belt with sturdy hardware.
Color Theory — We like neutral-toned sweaters because they tend to look a little sleeker. With super-saturated colored trousers, this pairing elongates your silhouette, and brings a little color to the party.
With A Micro Mini — A teeny, tiny skirt (a dress works, too!) turns a sweater into a bar-hopping-approved outfit. Wear it with your winter tights and super-tall boots, and get ready to be the most comfortable you've ever been while slamming back beers.
Try A Collar — An oversized sweater may seem too casual for the workplace, but a starched, white collar instantly classes it up.
